Schools and SFO
There are several ways to play softball in school or after-school care (SFO). The Danish Softball Federation has developed materials to help you get started with softball for different age groups.
Der kan spilles skole softball og baseball5 i skolen
Baseball5
Baseball5 is a sibling to softball and baseball and requires less space and equipment than softball, making it suitable for both large and small schools. It can be played indoors and outdoors, and you only need one ball. The slogan is "Play Everywhere" and is based on South American street sports where equipment is not central.
You hit a rubber ball with your hand, and there are no long waits for a pitched ball to hit with a bat. Then you run the bases as you know it from softball and baseball to score points.
The ball can be purchased from us, just write to info@softball.dk
School Softball
In School Softball (approximately 6th grade and up), we recommend playing with modified rules and a softer ball.
The rules can be ordered by sending an email to info@softball.dk.
On idrætsfaget.dk, there are plenty of exercises and lessons with softball for the oldest grades of primary school. Here you will also find technique explanations and background information about softball and bat-and-ball games in general. (You need to use either "UNI-login," "Clio-login," or WAYF access. Most schools have these types of logins.)
