Softball for children
Softball can be played by everyone, and it's never too late to start.
The Danish Softball Federation offers junior leagues U19, U15, and U12.
Softball is played in the junior leagues at tournament level during the season. The season also concludes with a championship tournament for U12, U15, and U19. Additionally, there is an indoor championship at the beginning of the year for U12 and U15. Read more in the tournament schedule here for U12 and here for U15.
Events and camps
The federation continuously offers various training camps, events, etc., for juniors. Keep an eye on the calendar for more information.
Girls at Bat
A recurring event is Girls at Bat, which is especially aimed at girls in the junior leagues U12 and U15 but also strives to generate interest among slightly older female players in coaching roles.
The focus is on a fun day of learning softball at the girls' respective levels and enabling them to play with other girls at an earlier age, as girls are often few in clubs and not all play with other girls before the women's league.
The goal is to create more girl matches in the junior years and provide both big and small girls with others to look up to in the sport, thereby increasing interest and eventually the level of Danish softball.
See more about the project on the Girls Initiative page, under Committees (under construction), and find upcoming events in the calendar.
Junior Camp
The annual junior trip is usually a major gathering for all children in the sport, where skilled coaches from home and abroad teach, and new friendships are formed across clubs for both parents and children, contributing to creating a special sense of unity across the sport.
The trip has been held during the Ascension Day holiday for several years and has been to Holland, the Czech Republic, and Sweden.
Players Passport
The Danish Softball Federation offers Players Passport Players Passport to the clubs' junior departments. Players Passport is a technique booklet for juniors, focusing on the development of softball skills.
